MY SPACE – BOOKING, PAYMENTS & CANCELLATION TERMS

  1. BOOKING TERMS
    1. A booking is only confirmed once:
      • payment has been received and cleared;
      • the Accommodation Agreement is signed by the student;
      • the Suretyship is signed by the parent / guarantor.
    2. The booking payment includes:
      • A non-refundable administration fee, and
      • A portion of the accommodation fee
    3. No accommodation is reserved until payment is received.
    4. Failure to complete payment requirements may result in cancellation of your booking.
  2. PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS
    1. By making payment, you agree to be financially responsible for the full accommodation amount in accordance with your selected payment plan.
    2. All payments must be made:
      • On the specified due dates
      • In full, without deduction or delay
    3. If you fail to make payment:
      • Interest or penalties may be charged
      • Your booking or agreement may be cancelled
      • You may remain liable for outstanding amounts
    4. Your right to occupy the accommodation is conditional upon payment being received.
  3. CANCELLATION POLICY
    1. You may cancel your booking by submitting notice via the My Space portal.
    2. If you cancel:
      • A cancellation penalty may be charged
      • The amount of the penalty depends on when you cancel
    3. When calculating the cancellation penalty, My Space considers:
      • The timing of cancellation
      • The value of the booking
      • The ability to secure a replacement lodger
    4. Cancellation penalties may include:
      • Fixed cancellation fees
      • A portion of the remaining rental
      • Notice period charges
    5. Certain fees, including the administration fee, are non-refundable.
    6. If the amounts paid do not cover the applicable penalties, you remain liable for the outstanding balance.
  4. REFUNDS
    1. Refunds (if applicable) are subject to:
      • Deduction of non-refundable fees
      • Deduction of cancellation penalties
      • Any outstanding amounts owed
    2. Refunds will only be processed once all obligations are settled.
  5. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
    1. By proceeding with payment, you confirm that:
      • These terms have been brought to your attention in a clear and understandable manner.
      • You have had an opportunity to read and understand the terms.
      • You accept the risks, obligations and potential cancellation penalties.
    2. These terms form part of your Accommodation Agreement with My Space.
